BIO

Mario has an extensive background in television, including starring roles in several network movies of the week and hit series.  He is currently the host of the news magazine, “Extra.”

Lopez shined in the starring role as the well-known four-time Diving Olympic Gold Medalist, Greg Louganis in the USA Network Pictures Original Special Presentation “Breaking the Surface: The Greg Louganis Story.”

Lopez is probably best known for his role as A.C. Slater on the NBC hit teen comedy series, “Saved by the Bell” and “Saved by the Bell: The College Years.”  Subsequent prime time movies include “Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas,” and “Saved by the Bell: Movie of the Week.”  In his teen years, Lopez showcased his talent through his roles in additional movies made for television:  “Killing Mr. Griffin,”  “The Last Fling,” “Deacon Street Deer” and the school break special “Big Boys Don’t Cry.”

Lopez also starred as the award -winning host on “Name Your Adventure.”  Mario was a series regular on “Kids, Inc.” and “A.K.A. Pablo.”  He also guest-starred on the well known series “Union Square,” Golden Girls” and “Simon and Simon.”  Lopez was also a finalist on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Lopez’s feature work includes lead roles in “The Journey: Absolution,” and “Depraved” and he co-starred in “Colors” and the upcoming “East Side.”

Active in theater, Lopez performed on stage for the Kellogg School of Performing Arts in “Grease” and “Sleeping Beauty.”  Other stage work include roles in “Scrooge” and “Annie.”
